Post submitted by James K Rector, HRC Arkansas Field Organizer
HRC Arkansas has been busy traveling the state providing outreach and discussing volunteer opportunities at college campuses in the Natural State. Just this past week, HRC was present at the Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. HRC Arkansas also plans to participate in University of Central Arkansas’ LGBTQ information session and mixer later this month.
“It was great to be back on campus and talk to current students about my internship with the Human Rights Campaign in Arkansas.” said Abe Greenbaum, an HRC Arkansas intern. “I can’t believe the support that we found on the campus from LGBTQ and ally students. It really shows that there is a need for HRC in the South.”
HRC Arkansas looks forward to future collaboration with students at universities and colleges across the state. If you would like to be involved click here to voice your support or text ONEARKANSAS to 30644 to join us.
As young people push to attain the goals of the queer community on their campuses, HRC is working to provide tools, facilitate connections with other LGBTQ student activists across the country and empower youth to fight for LGBTQ equality on campus and beyond. Learn more here.
