2009 Equality Award Winners Announced
The HRC Carolinas Gala committee has awarded the 2009 Equality Awards to Equality North Carolina (Equality NC) in Raleigh, NC and Denise Palm-Beck of Charlotte. The 2009 HRC Carolinas Equality Award recognizes an organization and an outstanding individual that have furthered the progress of civil rights for LGBT persons. Equality NC is making a real difference for LGBT North Carolinians. For the fifth year in a row, Equality NC led the battle to keep an anti-LGBT constitutional amendment off the ballot – leaving North Carolina as the only Southern state to stop this discriminatory amendment. Denise Palm-Beck is the current Board Chair of The Lesbian & Gay Community Center in Charlotte, and is a visible and hardworking supporter of numerous LGBT organizations, activities and events in Charlotte. HRC Diner Let's Make a Deal A "Huge Success"
The HRC Diner Let’s Make A Deal was held on Tuesday, January 27th, to a big crowd at the G&G Club. Hostess Roxy C. Moorecox and the HRC Diner waitresses kept the audience entertained while a great a meal was provided by Food Fetish and the G&G bartenders kept the thirsts at bay.
